The crisp mornings surrounded by beautiful and colorful trees is the part of fall that I savor here in the Northeast. Summer is my favorite season, but the beginning of fall is a close second especially because of the numbers of orchards and vineyards that are just begging to be taken advantage of in upstate New York. Many groups at schools around here have “wine tour”, which includes going up to the Finger Lakes and visiting the vineyards and orchards that produce some of our countries tastiest apples and wines.
Obviously there are only orchards for those of us who are underage, but either way it is still one of the best days of the year. Wine tour is an annual event and poses to be one of the biggest days for a stylista. There are always new trends and styles that need to be displayed. Girls spend days figuring out the perfect look, knowing the pictures will be all over media sites as a day to remember. The weather always poses a problem, since what the weatherman says is never guaranteed.
This year we got lucky, and the weather was a balmy 60 degrees. Everywhere I looked there were adorable oversized sweaters in every color complimented with patterned scarves or cool necklaces. A trend that has continued since last year is leggings, as well as colored and patterned jeans, which were everywhere tucked into a multitude of different types of boots. Equestrian, combat, motorcycle, you name it. Everyone came dressed to impress, and really displayed a range of what the hottest styles and trends are this fall. Any big sorority event means a great outfit is necessary, and wine tour is no exception. It is such a fun day, and a great way to show off your fall style. These fun styles pertain to what we wear to school and other daytime events, which are so different from mixers and nighttime events. All you need is a chunky sweater, scarf or cool jewelry to layer on top, complimentary pants, and boots. With all this you are all ready to tour the Finger Lakes in upstate New York or look casual and cool on your way to class! Good luck!
