Crafting Queen: A Sorority Girl's Guide to Giving Gifts and Decorating

If there is one cliche of being a sorority girl that I embrace it’s that I can craft like no other. So, this Christmas I tried my hand at crafting, because I finally had time. It turned out quite well. I spent hours crafting, for others and for myself. Crafting is so awesome, especially when it comes to giving gifts. I made probably eight canvas paintings to give away for Christmas. Let me just say Hobby Lobby is the real MVP in all of this. So, here’s some crafting inspiration from one sister to another.

For family:

I made this for my mom, it’s hard to see but it says “I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always. As long as I’m living my mommy you’ll be.” This is a quote from I’ll Love you Forever by Robert Munsch. My mom read this to me as a child, so I thought this was perfect for her.

Again this is hard to read in a picture. It reads FATHER vertically. And horizontally it says Funny, Handsome, Strong, Happy, Clever, Marvelous.

I made these for my parents to put in their offices.

Crafts for your big:

This was my bigs main Christmas present. But it would have worked as a birthday present as well.

I made this for my big as well. I also made myself one. And if I take a little I’ll make one for her! This is something I’m very excited about!

Crafts for friends and sisters:

I made this as a present for one of my sisters. It was inspired by friends obviously.

One of my best friends in AOII is a huge fan of Gossip Girl and loves Blair Whaldorf. Me and another best friend always tease her about being Blair, so this was a perfect gift for her for Christmas.

I made this for my best friend from high school. She goes to a different school, so I don’t see her as often as I would like, so this was very fitting.

I have to say this was probably the most fun to make! And it’s probably way easier to do than you would expect. All you need is crayons, a hot glue gun, a canvas and a hairdryer! It’s so easy!

Crafts for yourself:

I don’t have many for myself, but this was a craft I was very excited about! Again it’s super easy! All you need is wooden letters, paint, a hot glue gun and fake flowers. I love having this in my dorm room. I feel like it adds so much character.

Yes, my monogram actually does spell hen #sororitygirlprobs.

I hope this post inspires you to craft. Whether it be as a gift, or to spruce up your dorm! Happy crafting!
