This past weekend Theta celebrated the best day in every sorority girl’s life. A day better than Bid Day, a day better than any day of Recruitment, the day of Big-Little Reveal! Big-Little Reveal is the culmination of not just an entire week of spoiling your future Little with love and presents, but also the weeks of falling in love with your soon-to-be Little, the best part being the moment when you know, you just know, that she is the one for you. I mention my Littles often, not just because they are my best friends, but also because getting Littles was a life changing experience for me. There is nothing I wouldn’t do for my Littles, and after experiencing a bit of apprehension at sharing my Littles (you can check it out here: [Confessions of a Soon-to-Be Grandbig, I finally conceded that expanding our family could actually be a good thing, and I entered the hunt for a GrandLittle with excitement!
After welcoming 42 beautiful new members to our chapter, the search for GrandLittles began! As a Big to three perfect Littles, I couldn’t wait to welcome three GrandLittles and expand the number of people I can spoil and love unconditionally!
During Big-Little Week, being a very devoted GrandBig, I helped all three of my Littles decorate doors, craft beautiful canvases, and deliver surprises, spending almost as much time as I did when I was a Big! Despite all the time it took up, it was more than worth it to see the excitement and happiness on my GrandLittle’s faces!
Once the week was over, it was time for Big-Little Reveal! The sister in charge of Big-Little Week had the great idea to have Bigs decorate a puzzle that the Little had to piece together which would tell her who her Big was! This past Saturday, old members and new members alike gathered together to enjoy Reveal and welcome new family members!
Even though getting GrandLittles means that I am now officially old, I am okay with it because I could not be happier with my GrandLittles, three of the smartest, prettiest, and best girls I know, and the perfect additions to our family!
Now that Big-Little Reveal is over, the new members have Initiation to look forward to, when they will officially become members of the Fraternity. Less formal than that though, is the chance for families to continue to get to know each other and grow closer. Since we do not live together in a House, more effort has to be put into spending time together, which is why my family has family dinners once a week, as well as other fun dates to spend as much time together as possible.
My Theta family has been a source of love, comfort, fun, understanding, and inspiration throughout my time in college, and has provided me with a meaningful relationships that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I know this sounds cheesy, but I cannot imagine my life without my Littles, and I could not be more excited to share my love with my GrandLittles!
