I had this conversation with my best friend the other night. He said to me, “I love the Greek System because when it works it really works. Like right now, I am fully aware that I have found the values based organization I belong in, and so all around the country when I meet someone else in the same organization with the same values, I know we’ll get along”.
The Greek community is amazing that way, but what’s also amazing is how universally our chapters are perceived outside of just our values. What I mean to say is, when I went KD, I knew I was going to be living honorable, beautiful, and highest just like my sisters in the Beta Mu chapter as well as my sisters in all the other Kappa Delta chapters in the United States.
Values and ritual, though, are not the only things we share. In my two years being a part of this amazing organization of women who have made me feel at home in our sharing of heavy doses of sarcasm, laid back personalities, and quick witted humor. Among personality traits, there are many struggles and things that every Kappa Delta understands. In order to write this, I figured it’d be best to recruit my chapter to help me out. So, they did - and without further ado, here are 10 Signs You Might Be a Kappa Delta.
It’s always unfortunate when you’re taking that perfect pic on the beach for the insta and then you get home after a great day there or in the mountains or something amazing and you realize what a horrible crime you’ve committed. now it can’t go anywhere because
I couldn’t actually explain the amount of text messages I’ve ended with AOT just because there’s no other way. What better way to tell a sister how much she means to you you know?
Every time i wear my spirit jersey, and that’s honestly a good amount of time, there’s always someone that looks at the crest and asks about it. of course you won’t get any answers from us, because, #ritual, but sure everyone, the logical conclusion here is that we’re pirates, naturally.
If it weren’t for them, us wonderful, driven, and confident women just wouldn’t have a place that was our own. Thank goodness for such driven women, as we continue to be honorable, beautiful, and highest.
So this is for our non-greek friends. How many times have we been asked why exactly we own so many different articles of clothing with a K and a triangle on it. and you’re just like.
Let’s face it, we put it EVERYWHERE we can. It’s a way of life!
You know the ones, that teddy bear, the diamond, the (pretend) nautilus shell
I am a K
I am a K
I am a K-A-P-P-A D-L-T-A
During finals, after a long week, even after a not so hard week, the only thing that gets you through is that box of Samoas you saved and everyone knows your GirlScout cookies are not for sharing.
Everyone knows the drill. You Retweet because all you want is that super cute spirit jersey and then when you’re not the winner you go creep on the girl who did win because you just wanna be envious about it on your own.
