When your room is covered in green glitter and you’re your hot glue gun is burning a hole in your rug, you know its Kappa Delta big little week. Three days of back-to-back gift giving and decorating can take a serious toll on your wallet, but don’t panic! Here’s your guide to keeping big little week affordable and cute!
#1. Tinsel, Tinsel and more Tinsel:
This is a big little essential! Tinsel will give the appearance of a fuller bed and it’s most importantly, it’s cheap!
#2. G-big to the Rescue:
Chances are your G-big, who is about to graduate and start her life in the real world, does not have room in her tiny studio apartment for all of her Kappa Delta apparel. She will be more than willing to pass down some of her clothes to the newest addition in the family. Don’t be afraid to reach out to her for help!
#3. Add a Personal Touch:
It never hurts to write your future little a note expressing how much you love her! It’ll make her feel special and it’ll give her a little hint about who you are. (P.S- If she’s meant to be your little, she won’t care that you have 5th grade boy handwriting)
#4. The Dollar Store is your New Best Friend:
You’ll find lots of inexpensive glassware here that you can easily spice up with some 3D paint and a hot glue gun! Putting your little’s name and your sorority letters on martini glasses or plates is a cute way to create a unique gift.
#5. Save Everything Your Big Gives You:
This last tip is for the little ones: hold on to everything you get during big little week! All the posters, glasses, t-shirts, even the glitter you get from your big! It will help you immensely when you’re planning for your own little and make it a lot cheaper when it’s your turn to decorate, I promise!
Follow these 5 tips and your little will be just as happy as your wallet on reveal day!
