Sorority signs: who can do it better? Throwing what you know has been a distinct way to identify a woman in greek life for as long as any of us can remember. But what exactly is “throwing what you know?”. It’s when one (or more two) girls get together to put up a sign with their hands that looks more like sign language than actual letters. Even the least sorority-ish (is that a word?) of girls can admit to taking a picture like that. But I have to admit, I’m getting a little bored of seeing the same things over and over again. Here’s a bit of guidance about creative ways to throw what you know:
The classic picture is simply you and one of your sisters throwing it up together. You take one half of the letter, she takes the other. It is simple, but a bit boring. Heres an example:
Heres how to make it interesting: make it complicated. Add another girl. Although this might look like a complete mess and NOTHING like the letters “KKG”, just go with it, it never really does.
PS: Add a fourth person to make it even MORE complicated:
Okay, fine, this one only works if you have an underwater camera or GoPro, but it is pretty cool. This also counts as a solo shot, but everyone knows it’s better in pairs.
Pretty much any picture taken abroad with your letters turns out to be Instagram worthy. Like this:
Which brings me to my next example…
This is a stereotypical picture to take in any setting. It involves you or a friend throwing it up while the camera snaps you from the back. It looks artsy and cool, trust me.
Those are all my tips for today. Happy picture-taking!
