This year after a busy two weeks of spirit week and then formal recruitment week my sisters and I ditched our tired eyes and donned neon colored shorts, balloons and radio shaped notifiers in anticipation of our brand new pledge class.
Eta Eta chapter has just been granted the honor of having an on campus house and while all week it proved difficult to get every last move down pat for recruitment we were all so excited to show our new babies their new home!
This year Kappa decided to go with someone a little more laid back and fun for bid day. There weren’t any heels (thank goodness), jeans, or blouses. Instead we got dressed up in our “New Bids on the Block” tank tops, neon colored shorts and sneakers. It was so much fun to welcome home Tau class while just being in our normal everyday clothes (more neon for this occasion, though).
Being able to just wear comfortable clothes didn’t make the now new members of our chapter feel like they were over dressed or intimidated by running home to their new sisters who were all in heels. I think that giving our Tau class a look into our real lives and clothes just made them feel more at home.
I loved my first bid day on the inside of recruitment and I loved being comfortable but still rocking my pink neon shorts!
Happy bid day to all my Greek sisters out there!
