Pi Phi’s invaded the local thrift store in preparation for one of the most infamous parties of the semester. It was our annual prom themed date party, but with only a budget of $5 there was a lot of room for creativity and outrageous attire.
Outdated dresses twirled around the corridor of Minnich Hall as the last scrunchie was tightened around a teased mess of curls. It was nothing like the prom we experienced in high school. High heels and limos were replaced by converse and uber cabs as we stepped into the night of $5 prom.
The start of parents weekend was also amongst the town of Oxford and to say we stuck out was an understatement. There is something so memorable about looking perfectly ridiculous with your sorority sisters and embracing every moment of it. Themed parties are a great way to switch up the repetitive weekends and get creative with your wardrobe.
