If you’re like me and have straight, fine hair that never seems to hold a curl, than this is for you! By now everyone has heard of the curling wand, but Shirley Temple hair is not a good look on anyone. Here is a how to on getting those gorgeous curls that last for days (and seriously they don’t go away until you wash your hair).
Step 1: Spray wet hair with a root lifting spray or a volumizing mousse. (I use Sheer Blonde Full-Blown Blonde)
Step 2: Dry your hair completely upside down by bending over and running your hand through your hair as the hot air hits it.
Step 3: Separate your hair like you would normally to straighten or curl your hair by clipping up the top half of your hair from your ears up. Begin to curl the hair around the wand in 1 inch sections. Make sure to curl away from your face and that the hair lies flat against the rod.
Step 4: Continue curling your entire head until you look like this! (Don’t worry you’ll look 10x better, we’re not done yet.)
Step 5: Take the hair on one side of your part and finger comb it back and twist it into a long strand. (like this)
continued Step 5… Then continue twisting it into a bun. Secure with an elastic and do the same on the other side. Let them sit like this for 20 minutes.
Step 6: Undo the buns and run your fingers through your hair to loosen them up. Flip over and blow out the curls on medium/ cold setting of your hair dryer.
Step 7: Continue to shake out your curls with your fingers and hair spray to finish the deal. My curls lasted throughout the night even though it was humid and I was jumping around and dancing at a concert!
