My freshman year of college I decided to go through rush. Those of us that have been through recruitment before know the mixed emotions of excitement, exhaustion, butterflies and nervousness presented to us through the whole process. However, once recruitment is over the adventure begins: meeting new sisters, forming life-long friendships and of course finding the perfect big!
My sorority pairs us with nine different older members who are looking to find their future little. I remember being extremely anxious to start the process of finding my new big sister because I had always wished I had one. I was fortunate enough to meet my big Peyton only two short weeks into the sorority. We had actually talked in recruitment during one of the rounds about Disney princesses and we hit it off right away. I knew I wanted her to be my Big because she was super funny, gorgeous and we always had the greatest times when we hung out. I just hoped that she wanted me as badly as I wanted her.
The next few weeks were nerve racking because Peyton was paired with new members as I was paired with other older members. I was worried she was going to fall in love with another new member and of course she did! Another new member, Megan, got paired with Peyton a couple weeks after I was with her. Megan lived on my floor last year and I talked to her about how much she loved Peyton as well. Things were a little awkward between the two of us because we were unsure if Peyton was going to take twins or not.
The following week the three of us were hanging out with some of Peyton’s friends getting ready to go out for the night. I remember one of Peyton’s friends saying out loud how the two of us did not look like twins at all. Obviously it ruined the surprise and Peyton looked at both of us and just started to laugh. She told us we were both going to be her little, which was super exciting!
I was so happy that I was able to not only get the greatest big ever but also astunning twin as well. My Sigma Kappa family here at Clemson is huge. My big Peyton and my Grandbig Audrey were both twins as well, making me one of eleven! They are the greatest group of girls I know and I cannot wait to add to the family this semester when I find my own perfect little!
