I am a huge Mumford and Sons fan, so I practically died with excitement when I found out that they would be playing near Pittsburgh a week after I moved back to school. Lucky for me, a lot of my sisters are also die-hard fans, so we all planned to go together!
Finally, the day of the concert came! We all put together our cutest outfits and headed to Burgettstown, PA for the show. Normally, the drive wouldn’t take more than forty-five minutes, but somehow, we got stuck in traffic for close to three hours! We were all pretty nervous and anxious that we’d miss the show, but we had some great sister bonding along the way which made time fly.
We arrived just in time for the second opening act, The Vaccines. I’m usually not one for opening acts and I had never heard of them before, but they were actually really great and I’ve even downloaded a few of their songs since the concert. My favorite song by them so far is “If You Wanna”!
Next, it was time for Mumford and Sons to come on! I knew that they were my favorite band, but I fell in serious love after the concert, especially when they covered “Come Together” by the Beatles. Mumford and Sons meets The Beatles… It doesn’t get any better than that! They put on an amazing show and I will absolutely be looking to see them live again as soon as possible!
I loved seeing Mumford and Sons, but what made the night so memorable was being able to spend it with my sisters! Between the drive there and bonding over great music, it is certainly one of my favorite memories that I have since joining Sigma Kappa! No matter who is playing, concerts can be a great way to build even more memories with your sisters!
