So it’s that time of year again. The school work is starting to pile up, the weather is getting cooler, and we hardly have time to breathe, let alone explore life outside of campus. Recently the sisters of Sigma Kappa decided that we’ve had enough of being bundled up indoors and decided to explore the beautiful city of Pittsburgh that surrounds us.
After doing some research on activities, we decided to take advantage of the three beautiful rivers that surround our city. We found a kayaking company that gave great deals to college students, and spent a beautiful day exploring the rivers.
Not only did we get great exercise, but doing something that you wouldn’t normally do with your sisters made for a great bonding experience with plenty of laughs. We kayaked by famous Pittsburgh landmarks such as PNC Park, Heinz Field, and Point State Park - which is the the meeting point of the Ohio, Monongahela, and Allegheny Rivers.
So the next time you’re stressed with school, or feel trapped on campus, take an hour or two to explore the area around you with your sisters. I guarantee you’ll discover new things about your surroundings and about your closest friends as well. What activities would bring your sisters closer together?
