7 Christmas Traditions to Start with the Squad

There’s nothing else quite like the holidays and this Christmas is the perfect time to start some fun, seasonal traditions with you friends.

1. Look at all the pretty lights!

Grab a tumbler, make some hot chocolate and take a drive around the area to look at all the Christmas lights! See if you can find any houses with crazy-amounts of decorations (you know what I’m talking about…the people who’ll have a massive electric bill for December).

2. Chill with Santa.

Those photos with Santa at the mall are really for the little kids, but taking a squad photo with the big guy might be a fun tradition to start…especially when you get to look back on it years later.

3. Cliche cookies.

You must bake Christmas cookies, because is it actually the holiday season if you don’t?

4. Let’s get cozy.

Pick a good Christmas movie (like Elf) and snuggle up on the couch with some fuzzy blankets and your girlfriends. Extra points if there’s a fire in the fireplace.

5. (N)ice skating

It’s cute, it’s wintery…and a totally appropriate group activity.

6. Rock that ugly sweater.

Okay, let’s be honest, ugly sweaters are the bomb. And Christmas gives you the perfect excuse to really go all out. Visit local thrift stores together and see who can find the most horrendous holiday sweater of them all.

7. Go caroling.

This one might be out of your comfort zone, but going caroling somewhere like a nursing home is a good way to bring some joy to others. After all, the best way to spread Christmas cheer is by singing loud for all to hear.
